Last May 4, our seniors participate in the action “Schools SOS Azulejo”, promoted by the Municipality of Braga, through the Archeology Service. The activity is part of the national project of the Judicial Police Museum “SOS Azulejo” and that aims to raise awareness for the safeguarding of the Azulejar Heritage.
The seniors had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the Tiles of the Convent of Pópulo, the Palace of The Ray and the Chapel of St. Geraldo. Family spaces in our city, visited by so many, whose attentive look allows to know a valuable cultural heritage.
The visualization of a film reveals to us the process of restoration carried out in these panels. But surprisingly we can observe on site the restoration and rehabilitation of the bluish coating of the Chapel of St. Geraldo, necessary intervention to safeguard this artistic property, which reflects the history of our city.
A day dedicated to culture that ended with the visit to the Exhibition of Photography in the Fountain of the Idol and to some buildings in the streets of the historic center, now with a new look at its bluish facades.
